This is my new journal - it is a non-writing writing journal, maybe an actual "journal". I'll use dragonmonkey for posting things I think are more interesting or that I spend a little time on, but here I'm just going to do my own thing. It's full of bits, only bits. Half thoughts. Dreaming real time. Zen typing or something. Sometimes automatic writing, but not as interesting as automatic writing. Lazy writing is more like it. Not as serious as automatic writing. No magic powers. Me thinking with my fingers, that's all, so that I will be able to supplement my memories. To any who read dragonmonkey that might possibly be offended if I didn't add them as friends to Jacksensei upon creating this journal: With only a slim few exceptions, I only added people I know in 'real life'. For one, I don't mean for this journal to be for consumption or entertainment. I want it to be more of a 'journal' - a sorting of my own thoughts. I added the exceptions because at one time or another I felt a "para-virtual" sentiment towards them. They seemed human for me at some point and I remembered it. It has nothing to do with them being special people or interesting or anything - only my perception. Anyway, I'm still a firm believer that you can't really know someone until you talk to them, hear their voice, smell them, share flesh and blood discomfort with them. However, that said, some journals seem to be about people, and I'm interested in those journals. And other journals seem to be written by people, and I like those people for some reason. The idea of the journal, and the idea of the person - one does not have to be the other. I would say that 'dragonmonkey' does not constitute a journal and has never constituted a journal. It's just an authored work of crap-art and details of my life are the resources for it. I don't mean to denigrate myself with the word 'crap-art'. I picked up the idea from the Philip Dick book, confessions of a crap artist I don't even know if I"m capable of writing in a more personal natural way - but that's what I'm telling myself I'm going to try to do here. This journal may not be entertaining. Since I use a lot of friends only entries to protect my privacy, if you really want to read this journal then I'll probably friend you back whenever I get around to it. Although I have no desire to advertise this journal, I also have no interest in forbidding people from reading what I write as if it were meant for some elect group of 'cool people'. I've seen both kinds of practice on livejournal, and for the most part I find both distasteful. I lock entries only out of embarrassment or paranoia. | |||||
